Shellform Ltd was formed in 2002 for the purpose of marketing Shellcrete™. This cement based compound when mixed becomes a material similar to concrete but uses 75% less mineral and aggregate while achieving far greater compressive strengths than standard concrete.
It is also waterproof, frostproof and extremely fire resistant without the use of chemical additives.
The result is a material offering huge strength and a significant saving on emissions. The product is non-toxic, potable and a far lighter building product, saving foundation costs, mineral extraction, fossil fuel use, CO² emissions, transport and labour costs.
Shellform's design and build system has successfully exploited the Shellcrete™ compound using it to manufacture and build a pre-cast, SIP's panel, concept two bedroom house using the production line in our small factory in Southampton.
We have further developed the production line for other innovative uses in the industry, particularly where permeability is a problem. Our latest innovation is a permanently installed flood defence barrier.
Every stage of our research has been tested and certified over many years in conjunction with Southampton and Portsmouth Universities.
We have been awarded ISO 9001 and BBA Certification for our Shellcrete compound is in hand.
