Shellcrete - an ultra high perfomance steel reinforced structural building material.

Shellcrete's properties allow previously uneconomical architectural design to be eminently possible.

Strength to Weight Ratio

Shellcrete in its standard form is 4 times lighter than normal concrete and still retains a compressive strength of 50 Newtons.

This exceptional strength allows for the manufacture of a thinner, structural insulated panel that gives a substantial increase in footprint area in a finished building enabling very low u values to be attained, providing substantial cost savings.

Shellcrete can increase its standard to provide 100 Newtons compressive strength against concrete's average 25 Newtons and its composition enables it to reproduce a range of aesthetic surface finishes unmatched by concrete.

Fire Resistant, UV Light Resistant, Chemical Resistant, Frost Proof, Non-toxic and Water Proof

Shellcrete is a non-combustible material.  Samples have been cooked in a furnace at 1000 degrees Celsius for up to 5 hours without loss of integrity.  Shellcrete does not melt or shatter at such high temperatures.

Shellform has developed and proven it's new technology.  The University of Portsmouth Materials Testing Facility has tested, passed and certified Shellform panels as frost proof, heat resistant to 1000 degrees C, with a low expansion and contraction rate, low abrasion rate, low carbonation, high compression strength resulting in slender but strong weatherproof and waterproof membrane.  BBA certification is in hand, together with extensive structural data and LANTAC approval.

Chemical tests indicate it has a life-span of well in excess of 200 years so gives a whole life effective costing two to three times in excess of other systems.  A Shellform building is externally impervious to flood water and can be quickly cleaned and made ready for occupation far sooner than a traditional or timber frame or SIPS building.

Shellcrete's structural performance combined with its durability, strength, slimness and aesthetic qualities, as well as being highly resistant to corrosion, abrasion and vermin make it a genuinely sustainable material for the construction industry.

BBA Certification is in hand and due to be awarded to Shellcrete shortly.  For more information or a free consultation please call us on:  02380 528866 or Contact Us.
